"Micchio"

On Saturday we all went and saw Storybook Theatre's production of Pinnochio: the same company that did the three little pigs last year. Pinnochio is one of Avery's favorite movies; she calls it "micchio." Thankfully, the theatre version lived up to her high expectations.

Also, I thought I'd write a few more "Avery-isms." These latest quotes reflect Avery's insights on her mother's mortality . . .

After watching an Elmo's world segment on "families," I asked Avery if she knew who her family is. She replies "My family is Elliot Dee, my dad and my old mom."

Driving down the highway one afternoon, we see a house that has enormous amounts of smoke coming out the chimney. Avery says "What's that smell, mom?" "It's fire, Avery, it's smoke." "Hmmm" Avery muses, "it smells like breakfast."

This evening while playing dress up in her princess dress, Avery exclaimed that she was a princess, her dad was the prince, Elliot was the "bad guy" and mom was "the King." !!! It's nice to be the King. Mike got the short end of the stick because Avery then decreed that princes were not allowed to talk :)
